Holes in the wall are often the best. This tight, efficient environment is always filled with amazing smells, diligent staff and tasty Korean dishes. I've had the classic Bibimpab and the TukPoKee (top it with cheese!), an instant favorite.
Stumbled upon this hidden gem my first day back in London. The atmosphere is small quaint and intimate. The food is absolutely AMAZING. I started with the chicken dumplings and they were SO GOOD. I'm actually craving them now as i type this lol. I had the Korean BBQ chicken (medium spicy) as an entree. They also offer great discounts. Take-out is 10% off and Tuesday all food is 20% off. Great food, great value, great restaurant!
First introduction to 'authentic' Korean food in this cosy venue. Space for 10-12 people at any time. Not a huge menu but the food was freshly prepared, tasty and with good portions. Not easy to find unless they have improved the signage from the street. It is just down a little corridor off the main street. There was a queue waiting, so guess it is popular a certain times. May need to find bigger premises soon!
Great Korean food. Great atmosphere, feels like an authentic Korean place. This was the first time I was having Korean food and the waiter and the chef came to our table, helped us order, and advised us on what and how to eat.
Good service. Very good to fill Korean craving. Nice location. Short rib good but different from us without marinade. Enough gochuhang and then very happy. Kimchee fried rice nice and spicy. Kimchee jigae good
I've had Korean food at a number of different places and Simya was the best I've ever had so far. I ordered a Tofu Bibimbap and homemade kimchi, both of which were fantastic and tasted very authentic; a lot more than some of the other places I'd been before. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the menu was simple albeit lacking explanations of certain dishes, and the place itself was small with limited seating but quite cosy. On the there was not much variety, but they did have the mainstream highlights of Korean food such as kimchi pancakes, bibimbap, Doenjang-jjigae (soy bean soup), Korean BBQ, sharing platters etc. They also had a some Japanese dishes including Omuraisu (omelette with fried rice), edamame, tempura, chicken katsu, udon noodles and gyoza. The desserts are limited to matcha ice cream, coconut ice-cream and a kids ice cream dessert. The price was reasonable with most things under £10, however they do add service charge to the bill (we were only 2 people) of 10% regardless of the number of people. Overall: Authentic and inexpensive Korean food in a cozy little restaurant only a few minutes from West Brompton station. It is a very good restaurant and the food and workers there are very nice. Yes it is small and they could make the food faster so u don't have to wait but otherwise I would highly recommend it.
